Description
The Venue Technical Manager (VTM) is responsible for managing the games time operation of the Host Broadcast technical and engineering facilities in all venues with TV coverage. Postions located at various sport venues in France.
Duties
- Primary contact for technical issues and daily reports at the venue to OBS management;
- Responsible for the set-up and performance of all technical facilities at the venue;
- Overseeing the technical quality of the images and audio during transmission;
- Primary responder to solving venue technical issues;
- Supervision of power delivery, back up and changeover operations;
- Responsible for receipt of technical equipment at the broadcast compound and return to the Field Shop;
- Assists Rights Holding Broadcaster (RHBs) with their operations at the venue including technical integration and services from the TOC;
- Supervises all OBS technical personnel, including technical production team, transmission and commentary at the venue.
Experience
- 5+ years senior engineering experience in a broadcast organization working in both Outside Broadcasts and studios;
- Previous experience in recent, high scale and complex live broadcast transmissions is required;
- Excellent command of English, verbal and written;
- Solid engineering and broadcasting perspective;
- Thorough understanding of digital broadcast automation and broadcast IT systems;
- Excellent project management skills, and capability of handling multiple projects simultaneously under high pressure;
- Detail orientated team player and capable of communicating with all levels in a multinational organization and across with key stakeholders and third parties;
- Comfortable with key office IT tools (MS Office suite including MS Access and MS Project or equivalent);
- National and/or International Driver’s license with a clean driving record.
