Bell Media has an opportunity for an experienced Assignment Editor to join the leadership team at CTV News Toronto. Reporting to the Executive Director and Managing Editor, the successful candidate will demonstrate exceptional editorial skills in producing show content and interview segments. We are looking for an innovative story chaser who is comfortable with both traditional broadcast and digital media. You should be both a leader and a collaborative team player who thrives in the deadline driven world of TV news.

Responsabilities:
  • Generating story ideas and proactively managing day of and future coverage
  • Taking part in the daily and long term planning of news coverage
  • Other duties include: writing and editing scripts, supervising edits, critiquing news material
  • Managing both editorial and technical needs on major coverage deployment
  • Managing assignments to ensure all CTV News platforms needs are covered
  • Developing and maintaining relationships with CTV News international partners
  • Managing special projects as assigned by the Executive Producer
  • Managing foreign bureau personnel and maintaining active and reliable scheduling
