HERE’S SOME INFORMATION FOR YOU? The Digital Journalist will be responsible for delivering, either through content production or as part of a rigorous sub-editing process, the most engaging and timely copy possible to drive both Perform’s syndicated editorial sport products and internal portals. They will hunt out news lines and write compelling stories, reports and innovative multimedia content, ensuring copy is tight, accurate, timely and engaging for a digital audience. HERE’S A BREAKDOWN OF WHAT YOU’LL DO (NOT ALL OF IT, JUST THE MOST IMPORTANT STUFF) Delivering eye-catching multi-platform content, including news and features, primarily for use on our global editorial news wire Sub-editing copy rigorously to ensure the highest standard of quality is maintained Producing, curating, sub-editing and working with social media and live editorial content. Coverage of live events and on-the-ground press opportunities DO YOU HAVE THESE ESSENTIALS? Excellent writing and sub-editing skills, preferably honed at a newspaper, agency or digital site Outstanding knowledge of a wide variety of sports and a strong understanding of media law Good editorial judgement and the ability to work to real-time deadlines An ability to innovate – demonstrating creativity when it comes to idea generation Strong organisational, communication and time-management skills A keen eye for detail. IT WOULD BE GREAT IF YOU HAD THESE DESIRABLES TOO Understanding of and experience of working with video and/or data-editorial content |
