OVERVIEW CNBC is looking for a talented Multimedia Journalist to join a dynamic international team creating video for digital platforms. The ideal candidate should have a smart and creative outlook when it comes to business, economic and geopolitical news, with the skills to make it educational and entertaining for a younger, mobile-first audience. The successful candidate will be responsible for reporting and creating high-quality, timely and innovative video news and features. This role will be based in Singapore and will work with a global team of multimedia journalists, graphics designers, camera operators and social media producers. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Research and develop multimedia story ideas for CNBC.com and CNBC’s social platforms Own each digital video from start to finish – including script writing, presenting and editing Promote videos by writing complimentary articles for CNBC.com and maintaining a professional social media presence Collaborate with other departments to expand the CNBC brand across all platforms Qualifications/Requirements SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND REQUIREMENTS • Degree with journalism post graduate or professional qualification • Smart judgement and awareness about how to make business news, data and features into compelling videos that build audience and promote sharing • Ability to perform in a high-volume, multi-task, deadline-oriented environment • Significant experience in producing, writing and/or editing for the web • Experience editing video packages on Adobe Premiere or equivalent • Strong, compelling writer and visual storyteller • Advanced research and fact-checking skills • Familiarity with one or more content management systems • Understanding of key social platforms for professional purposes • Knowledge of both web and television production preferred |
