Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune decided Thursday to advance the presidential elections to September instead of the originally scheduled date in December. It was decided to hold pre-term presidential elections scheduled for Saturday, Sep 7, 2024, with the electoral body being summoned on June 8, 2024, the Algerian Presidency said in a statement following a meeting chaired by Tebboune to discuss preparations for the elections.
