According to ancient tradition by the rays of the sun in Olympia, Greece, the Olympic Flame will arrive in France after crossing the Mediterranean Sea. In Marseille, on 8 May 2024, the Flame from the Paris 2024 Torch will open the celebrations.

Paris Summer Games Flame Ceremony

The Olympic flame for Paris 2024 will be lit by the sun's rays during a ceremony on April 16 in ancient Olympia.
It will then be carried around the nation before its handover at Panathinaiko Stadium on Apr. 26 in Athens.
