The upcoming presidential elections in Azerbaijan are set to take place on February 7, 2024. Originally slated for October 2025, President Ilham Aliyev called for an early election in December 2023 following Azerbaijan's successful offensive in Nagorno-Karabakh. This offensive resulted in the cessation of the Armenian-led breakaway state Republic of Artsakh and Azerbaijan gaining complete control over the disputed Nagorno-Karabakh region. Informally dubbed the "Victory Election" (Zəfər seçkisi) due to the military success, it represents the third snap election in Azerbaijan's history and the first to be held during the winter season.
