TRAIN STRIKE IN GERMANY

The German Train Drivers' Union (GDL) has initiated a major train strike in Germany starting from 24 till 29 January. This strike is significantly disrupting passenger and freight rail services nationwide. The strike, a result of wage and working hour disputes with Deutsche Bahn, marks one of the longest in recent history. Extensive travel disruptions are expected throughout the country.
