Queen Margrethe II of Denmark announced, during her New Year's eve address to the nation, that she was abdicating and leaving the throne to her son, Crown Prince Frederik. She will step down on 14 January, when the official announcement of the new King will be made.

1400 GMT (1500 CET) Proclamation of King Frederik X from the Balcony at Christiansborg Castle
1600 GMT (1700 CET) Flag ceremony at Amalienborg Palace

Eurovision News Events, with its partner and EBU-member DR, is offering live stand-up positions in front of the Parliament (Christiansborg) and in front of the Royal Palace (Amalienborg) on 14 January.
