Voters head to the polls on Dec. 20 in the Democratic Republic of Congo, where some 44 million people are expected to cast ballots to elect the country's next president.
President Felix Tshisekedi is fighting for a second term in a nation mired by conflict in the east and rising political tensions. The election faces enormous logistical challenges sparking concern it could impact the vote's credibility.
