The military junta that seized power from President Bazoum has requested the Ambassador of France to leave the county. France has rejected the request citing that the military junta is not the representative government of the people of Niger. The Niger military junta has proceeded to blockade the French embassy making the ambassador and his embassy personnel survive on military rations.
