The Arab League is holding the fifth session of the Arab Economic, Social, and Development Summit in the Mauritanian capital, Nouakchott, on the 6th and 7th of November 2023. The summit's agenda includes 22 items focused on blue economy, food security, artificial intelligence, supportive technologies, social protection, health, acute crises in Arab food security, and the energy sector amid the ongoing climate change crisis and the Russian-Ukrainian war that has disrupted the export of Russian and Ukrainian grains and fertilizers. There is also an item related to supporting the Palestinian economy. Alongside the summit, several events will take place, including the Fifth Arab Private Sector Forum and the Fifth Arab Civil Society Forum.
