The Military Junta in Niger Republic is refusing to back down and relinquish power to the democratically elected Goverment of Niger Republic citing corruption and mass negligence from the previous administration as reasons for their coup de tat. This is coming despite the threat from the Economic Community of West African States to use force to intervene if the military junta refuses to relinquish power back within 7 days. Russia has publicly supported the Military Junta of Niger Republic through the operations of the Wagner Group but it is uncertain the level of support the military junta will continue to receive Inlight of the death of the founder of the Wagner Group.
