Update 21.07. The Police have called off the urgent search for a suspected escaped lion in the south of Berlin. Following a review by experts, the animal in question has been identified as a wild boar. The situation is now considered resolved and people can safely resume their normal activities.

An urgent search is ongoing in the south of Berlin following the escape of a lion. Over 220 Police officers are involved in the operation, focusing their efforts around Zehlendorf, where most sightings have been reported. The authorities have deployed helicopters and drones to aid in the search. People are strongly advised to remain indoors for their safety.
