US Secretary of State Antony Blinken and Russian Minister of Foreign Affairs Sergey Lavrov are meeting in Geneva on Friday 21 January in an attempt to quell the tensions over the situation in Ukraine. The high-level meeting comes on the heels of security talks between Russia and western allies including NATO and the OSCE. Blinken on Thursday issued a strong warning against any Russian incursion into Ukraine, which he said would be met with a "severe, united response" from the West.
