For the second day in a row, protesters closed the southern port of Port Sudan, in protest against the eastern route that was signed within the Sudanese peace agreement in the capital of South Sudan, and the protesters, representing workers and overseers of the region, decided to continue the escalation until all their demands were fulfilled, to cancel the eastern route in the agreement.
Economists warn that the port will continue to be closed as a lifeline for the country's cities, as it is the only port for the import and export of various goods. The escalation began on Saturday, with the closure of "Aqaba" on the national road leading to the main ports in the Red Sea. With the complete transfer and unloading of goods in Port Sudan, which the Security Committee in the Red Sea State decided to stop the movement of buses to and from Port Sudan as a result of the closure of the road linking the cities of (Sankat-Haya). And at the end of last September, the Beja tribes council in eastern Sudan decided to demand self-determination Eastern Sudan region, rejecting marginalization, following protests against the appointment of a governor of Kassala state in northern Sudan.
