On Wednesday the European Commission could invoke Article 7 for Poland. The commission meets to discuss judicial reforms in Poland that are considered by many as antidemocratic and had broken EU rules on human rights and democratic values.

Article 7 can be invoked when members identify a "clear risk of a serious breach" of EU values, suspending certain rights including voting privileges. If invoked Poland could also loose billions of euros of EU aid.
