CZECH ELECTIONS
PRAGUE, CZECH REPUBLIC
20-21 OCTOBER, 2017

Parliamentary elections are held in the Czech Republic on 20-21 October 2017.
Billionaire businessman Andrej Babis’ ANO party has a double-digit poll lead, putting him on course to be the next prime minister. Babis has been a critic of the EU’s migration policy and says the Czech Republic and smaller member states like it should have a stronger voice in the Union, not Brussels officials. He said Prague should not adopt the common currency until the euro zone sorts itself out.

All 200 members of the Czech Chamber of Deputies will be elected on 20-21 October, and the leader of the resultant government will become the Prime Minister.
