BRAZIL'S PRESIDENT FACES CRIMINAL CHARGES
RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL | 27 JUNE 2017 - ONWARDS
AP RIO DE JANEIRO BUREAU ►

Brazil's attorney general has formally accused President Michel Temer with corruption, the first time a sitting president in Latin America's largest nation has faced criminal charges.

In less than two months, Temer could be suspended from office, raising even more doubts about Brazil's future until October 2018 general elections.

Temer has denied wrongdoing and said he refuses to resign despite numerous calls for him to do so and tanking popularity.
