PRESIDENT HOLLANDE VISITS CALAIS

French President Francois Hollande is visiting the port of Calais on Monday 26 September for the first time since winning office in 2012.

During the visit, Hollande has called for a migrant camp known as "the Jungle" to be fully dismantled by the end of the year, labelling it a "humanitarian emergency”.

Authorities say about 7,000 persons live in squalid conditions near the port hoping to get to Britain, while aid agencies claim there are some 10,000 people in the camp.
