BRATISLAVA, SLOVAKIA 23 SEPTEMBER 2016 Trade Ministers and Commissioner Malmström will discuss the liberalisation of trade vis à vis some of the EU's major trading partners, in particular the USA and Canada. They will also address the important issue of how to modernise the EU's current legislative framework of trade defence instruments against unfair trade. Another agenda issue will be the expiry of certain provisions of China’s WTO Accession Protocol with regard to granting market economy status to China. The press conference, in the presence of Peter Žiga, Minister of the Economy of the Slovak Republic, and Cecilia Malmström, EU Commissioner for Trade, is scheduled to take place on Friday 23 September at 15.25 in the Press centre in Reduta, E. Suchoň Square 1, Bratislava.
