Sweden’s Prime Minister Stefan Löfven has been invited to meet with Federal Chancellor Angela Merkel in Berlin on 26 August. Together with the Danish Prime Minister Lars Løkke Rasmussen, the Finnish Prime Minister Juha Sipilä and the Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte, the heads of government will discuss the EU's future and the challenges it is facing following the UK referendum, in preparation for the informal European Council meeting to be held in Bratislava in September.

Angela Merkel is scheduled to have talks with the prime ministers of the Netherlands, Sweden, Finland and Denmark at the government guesthouse, Schloss Meseberg, outside Berlin.

German Chancellor is launching a round of talks on Monday,meeting 15 European leaders in six days, ahead of a key summit next month on Britain‘s shock plans to exit the EU.

The heads of government will discuss the EU's future and the challenges it is facing following the UK referendum, in preparation for the informal European Council meeting to be held in Bratislava in September.
