FUNERAL OF MUHAMMAD ALI
LOUISVILLE, KENTUCKY, USA
JUNE 8-10, 2016

Boxing legend Muhammad Ali will be commemorated with two services on Thursday and Friday of this week.

On Thursday, a private gathering will take place at the Islamic Funeral Prayer Program in Louisville, Kentucky. Then on Friday a massive public memorial service will take place in a sports arena a short distance away, attended by dignitaries from all over the world.

Muhammad Ali died last weekend after a 32-year battle with Parkinson's disease. He was crowned world heavyweight boxing champion on several occasions, most famously after bouts with George Foreman and Joe Frazier.

EUROVISION Special Events is offering live stand-ups from Muhammad Ali's home town, Louisville, Kentucky throughout this week, with a major operation planned for Thursday and Friday.

Eurovision will be outside Freedom Hall on Thursday for the Islamic Funeral Prayer Program. The event will begin at 1600 GMT (1200 EDT).

On Friday, Eurovision will have its truck in a location near the KFC Yum! Center in Louisville, the location of the public memorial service. The day will begin with a parade through Louisville at 1300 GMT (0900 EDT), and the service will be at 1800 GMT (1400 EDT).
