G20 SUMMIT 2016 HANGZHOU, CHINA 04-05 SEPTEMBER 2016 The G20 Summit 2016 will be held on 04-05 September in Hangzhou, China. MEDIA ACCREDITATION Members of media who wish to cover the event have to register online via http://media.2016g20.org. The deadline for media registration is 10 August 2016. Foreign journalists abroad are required to go to the Chinese embassies, consulates or other visa-issuing institutions authorized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to apply for J-2 visa after online registration. Press card pickup information will later be released on the official website of the media center www.g20chn.com. The 2016 G20 Hangzhou summit will be the eleventh G20 meeting. It is planned to be held on 4–5 September 2016 in the city of Hangzhou, Zhejiang. It is also the first ever G20 summit to be hosted in China and the second international summit after Xi Jinping succeeded the General Secretary of the Communist Party of China (China's paramount leader) in 2012.
