Job Description
The position of Technical Director is in the heart of the action. Based in London, UK you will be involved in live and pre-recorded programmes, Webinars, podcasts, Outside Broadcasts, Event filming’s and other ad-hoc internal video services.

Bridging both Editorial and Commercial departments of Thomson Reuters, the Studio staff of Broadcast Solutions facilitate the production of multi-media content for several high-profile clients. Reuters Broadcast Solutions provides fully produced, broadcast-ready programs covering financial markets, sports, lifestyle, health, technology, the auto industry and much more.

You should have appreciation of, and an interest in, current and future media technologies. You will share responsibility for all Galleries and Studios as part of a 3-man crew, taking the initiative to provide quality output and the smooth production of content whilst ensuring the safety of the Production Area, Personnel and Guests in this Client-Facing role. You will be a clear communicator, able to multi-task, manage time, and exercise good judgment.

Working in a fast-paced Newsroom environment you will need to be calm under pressure, highly organized, with an attention to detail and a professional working attitude. You will be expected to work both under the supervision of the Production Team or the Clients, and as a stand-alone unit, to provide the services required and maintain the highest technical standards for Sound and Vision. You will be able to anticipate, react to, and resolve technical and operational issues, as well as assist in spotting technical, typographical, grammatical and factual errors before delivery or transmission. Candidates must understand that our department works within - and shares many resources with - a much larger Newsroom, both locally and internationally, and they will be responsible for ensuring good working relationships, sharing knowledge and experience, and lending assistance where and when possible.

Candidates will be expected to uphold the Thomson Reuters Trust Principles of Independence, Integrity, and Freedom from Bias in the gathering and dissemination of information and news.

Please note, this role is a 12 month fixed term contract.
