dpa partners with Reuters to distribute international content to its clients

Berlin, December 2016: Reuters and dpa, Deutsche Presse-Agentur, the largest news agency in Germany, have announced that they are partnering to distribute dpa’s international content to their clients using the Reuters Connect platform.

Reuters signs deal to distribute dpa's international content.
Reuters Connect offers a resilient, flexible, cost-effective distribution solution for broadcasters and digital publishers and makes it easy to onboard new clients and market content to customers. The Reuters Connect platform provides a gateway to all media – newswires, pictures, graphics, video and ready-to-publish multimedia packages – and offers several delivery options.

Reuters will initially distribute dpa’s English and Arabic newswire content to dpa clients outside of Germany, Austria and Switzerland, with multimedia content being added in 2017.

Andreas Schmidt, Senior Vice President, Head of Finance, Logistics and IT, said, “dpa has always chosen partners that are highly professional and can be counted on. I am therefore delighted that we are entering into such a partnership with Reuters. In reporting the news we remain rivals, but a commonality of interests as two independent global news agencies unites us.”

Joachim Harris, Head of Business Development for EMEA at Reuters, said “Setting up and maintaining a content distribution platform can be a time consuming and expensive process for media organisations. Reuters Connect provides a reliable, flexible and cost-effective distribution solution and we are excited that dpa is adopting the platform to deliver content to its international clients, ensuring that they can all benefit from the internet-based technology that Reuters Connect provides.”
