EMMANUEL MACRON CAMPAIGN MEETING
LYON GERLAND, FRANCE

Presidential candidate Emmanuel Macron will hold a meeting on Saturday 4 February at the "Palais des Sports" of Gerland in Lyon.

Some commentators predict the race will further open up for the French Presidential candidate and leader of the "En Marche" movement after Les Republicains candidate, Filon became embattled by a french newspaper's claims that his wife was falsely employed with public funds. In a move seen by some as strengthening his candidacy still further, the Socialist party has elected Francois Hamon, a candidate from the left wing of the party to become their candidate in this year's election.

Polls suggest that he would comfortably beat Le Pen in a second round, should he finish ahead of Filon. The meeting is due to take place one day before Marine Le Pen is due to launch her campaign in the same city, the leader of the "En Marche!" movement promised it would be an important moment of his campaign.
