Poland will mark the 71st anniversary of the Warsaw Uprising on August 1st, 2015. The whole country will stop for a minute of silence at 5:00 p.m. - an exact hour when the uprising begun - to commemorate victims of the Warsaw Uprising. 71 years ago on August 1st the Polish resistance Home Army started the unequal battle on the streets of Warsaw. The Warsaw Uprising lasted for 63 days, killing over 16,000 members of the Polish resistance and wounding over 6,000. In addition, between 150,000 and 200,000 Polish civilians died, mostly from mass executions.
