An international conference on the conflicts in Iraq and Syria is to take place in Paris. The last such summit was held in Paris in September and saw representatives from around 30 countries and international organisations meet to come up with a strategy to combat ISIS group which has seized large parts of Iraq and Syria. More than 60 countries eventually joined the coalition, a dozen of which are taking part in air strikes on ISIS positions.

French Foreign Affairs Minister Laurent Fabius called on the international community to strengthen its mobilization against the Islamic State group ahead of an international meeting on Iraq organized next week.

Members of the U.S.-led coalition fighting IS will gather in Paris on June 2, including Iraqi Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi, U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry and representatives of top international organizations.

An international meeting to discuss the situation in Iraq and Syria will be held in Paris on 2 June.

Host French foreign minister Laurent Fabius is expected to be joined by at least 24 foreign ministers. They will be trying to advance their strategy for combabting ISIS in Syria and Iraq.

US secretary of State John kerry who was due to attend will now join the meeting remotely following a bike accident in the French Alps on Sunday (31 May).

The meeting will be held at the French foreign ministry -Quai d'Orsay.
