IHA News Agency

US vice president Joe Biden, set to travel to Kiev on April 22, will become the most senior U.S. official to visit the country since the crisis began there.
His visit will demonstrate support for the Ukrainian government as U.S. officials expressed new concern over "violence and sabotage" by militants it said were apparently supported by Russia in eastern Ukraine.

THE ASSOCIATED PRESS I AP 360

U.S. Vice President Joe Biden is to visit Ukraine on 22 April to meet government and citizen leaders.

The visit will focus on the international community's efforts to help stabilise and strengthen Ukraine's economy, as well as efforts aimed at constitutional reform, decentralization, anti-corruption and free and fair presidential elections set for May 25, according to The White House.

Biden’s trip comes amid spiraling anger in eastern Ukraine, which has a large Russian-speaking population wary of the West and its support of the authorities in Kiev.

Broadcast facilities include:

• Live positions overlooking Kiev's Independence
Square
• Multi-format tape playout facilities
• International delivery via AP’s satellite and fibre
networks
