Business Development Executive

The Americas has been part of Telstra’s International business for 25 years, and is strategically important to Telstra Broadcast Services as the home of leading global entertainment and sports companies who are moving content into Asia and around the world, as well as bringing content back into the USA from global markets and live special events.

We are looking for an experienced Business Development Executive who will help drive Telstra Broadcast Services (TBS) business development and achievement of sales targets for the Americas region; and lead media customer acquisition, experience and retention.

Key Accountabilities:
  • Accountable in the TBS sales team to lead the business development of the professional media portfolio in the Americas
  • Generate professional media pipeline and drive sales opportunities for the Americas as a subject matter expert
  • Establish, maintain and execute professional media and business development and sales plans endorsed by the customer, and in alignment with the Telstra Enterprise Account Managers
  • Identify requirements and define services and solutions that fulfil the needs of and are valued by customers and channel partners
  • Bring Telstra capability together with 3rd party equipment and services, working closely with vendors and suppliers of broadcast services and solutions as required
  • Collaborate with Telstra sales, marketing, product and engineering teams to create compelling offerings for the entertainment and sports industry
  • Recognised by TBS customers and prospects as an industry expert in professional media and broadcast services, who can work collaboratively with our media customers to tailor complex solutions
  • Deep knowledge of broadcast operations, media and broadcast products and workflows, and media product and service development
  • Experience with the delivery of high value live entertainment and sports content
  • Good understanding of global content transport and value added services, experience with international affiliates and global markets a plus point
  • Well-developed consultative selling and customer solution selling skills
  • Strong industry network with existing relationships across the broadcast and sports industry and partners in the Americas
  • Documented and strong track record and ability of consistently winning and closing deals
  • Demonstrated ability to achieve sales targets and to generate new business with existing and new customers and channel partners
  • Proven presentation and communication skills and the ability to story-tell a proposition to C level Executives
