Job Introduction We have an exciting opportunity for a Technical Operator to join the BBC Nations Operations team based in Jersey. The Ops team works alongside editorial colleagues in Regional TV, Local Radio and Online. We collaborate to produce engaging content and strong local journalism with high operational, craft and production standards for BBC Channel Islands. We multi-skill and regularly film, edit, direct, create graphics, and vision and sound mix. We cover the islands of Jersey, Guernsey, Alderney, Sark and Herm. The Islands are British Crown Dependencies, with their own governments and legal systems. There’s a lot of news, from housing pressures, ferry and air links, to bad weather and the struggle for nurses and teachers. The islands have a really different news agenda to the UK. Living here offers outstanding opportunities for everything from surfing to cycling and music. There’s a vibrant local arts scene, great places to socialise and stunning coastline. You’re never more than 20 minutes from a beach in the warmest place in the British Isles.
