Reuters is seeking an outstanding and enterprising newsroom leader to drive our coverage of Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific, as the region faces rising trade and geopolitical tensions between the United States, Australia’s main security ally, and China, its largest trade partner and the world’s second-largest economy. The successful candidate will lead agenda-setting coverage of Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific, set coverage priorities and provide direction to reporters, produce in-depth and distinguished journalism and oversee breaking news under pressure. He or she will have a history of leading news teams and a good understanding of the news needs of financial specialists, media subscribers and the readers of Reuters.com. The bureau chief will also have a knack for spotting the stories that demand global attention and an understanding of how to tell those across video, pictures, graphics and text. The position will be based in Sydney and will report to Soyoung Kim, Editor for North Asia, Southeast Asia and Australasia. |
