We are looking for an experienced and multi-skilled Production Journalist to join our RTS award-winning broadcast and digital news team at ITV News Central - one of the busiest and most-watched regions on the ITV network. The successful candidate will be a self-motivated and enthusiastic journalist, someone who loves the production and teamworking essential in broadcast news and digital. You’ll have a passion to tell stories from across this exciting and richly varied part of the UK. You’ll have a contacts list bulging with links to different communities and the ability to bring in ideas with a clear understanding of how to turn them into compelling stories online and on air. You’ll be able to show how you cope with a demanding and changing workload, meet frequent tight deadlines and work calmly under pressure. The role is based in our Birmingham newsroom, and the successful candidate will already have experience working on television and/or digital news production. Ideally you'd have produced early, late and weekend bulletins and set up TV news stories. You will have a passion for digital curation - creating content that enhances our reputation and engages our online audience. You will have excellent written and verbal communications skills, and the ability to demonstrate good working relationships with colleagues and external contacts. You will have strong editorial judgement and social media skills, and you’ll know what gets the Midlands talking. You will have qualified in media law and have a thorough understanding of the Ofcom Code. This vacancy has arisen because one of our Production Journalists has secured a full time reporting role in ITV regional news. |
