Job Description

The Thomson Reuters Foundation is seeking a creative and entrepreneurial journalist to lead our social media team and set the strategic direction of our channels. Social media is an essential entry point and engagement tool for our audience of purpose-driven professionals, and is invaluable to us in building brand loyalty and driving digital growth. 2020 was a year of strong growth on social for Thomson Reuters Foundation and we will be looking for someone to continue this positive trend.

The ideal candidate should be a self-starter, a creative thinker, and have impeccable news judgement.

As Head of Social Media, you will run a small team of producers who produce the company’s editorial and comms social media accounts. This will involve commissioning and approving social-native content (infographics, videos, etc); taking a leading role in the development of campaigns for major projects; using data to inform decision-making and fuel growth; providing guidance across the Foundation on social media best practices; leading on social media strategy; and keeping up to date with the latest trends in publishing on social media.

We will be launching a new news website in 2021 and you will play a leading role in developing its social media strategy from the ground up.

Please note, this is a 1 year fixed term contract.
