Contract Duration: 6 months

Summary of key functions:

Under the guidance of the UN Resident Coordinator (UNRC) and of the Director of the UN Information Centre (UNIC), and under the direct supervision of the UNIC Rio National Information Officer and the Public Information Assistant Consultant, the Video Information Assistant will be responsible for the following duties:

1) Produce and disseminate video information in the website related to the activities of UN in Brazil:

- Maintain and update videos on the UN website on a daily basis.

- Improve the video content of ONU Brazil website.

- Produce, record and edit video news stories and animations; translate and add subtitles to video stories both in Portuguese or English, as required.

- Translate, edit and add subtitles to pictures and videos using all the social media connected to the UN Brazil website (Facebook, Twitter, Vimeo, Instagram, YouTube, etc.).

2) Translate UN information and documents, such as press releases, Secretary-General’s messages, op-eds, leaflets etc. into Portuguese, as required.

3) When needed, produce and disseminate promotional materials of the UN, such as video newsletters or video clips and other video materials, on behalf of UNCT.

4) Take and edit photos and audio and video materials.

5) Perform any other relevant duties as may be assigned by the Director of the UNIC Office.

Failure to carry out any of the above tasks in a timely manner will affect the working of the UN System as a whole and will generate lack of confidence in UN by its partners and main audiences. Thus, the key results have an impact on the success of UN System mission in Brazil.
