Key Accountabilities
The Communications Officer (m/f/d) is part of the Europe Communications team and will be responsible for increasing IRC’s European donor visibility.
- Write concepts, skripts and storyboards for videos for IRC’s channels
- Write human interest stories for EU and global IRC websites
- Collaborate with media colleagues in writing press releases and spotting opportunities for external publication of EU funded content.
- Support the development of communications proposals for bids
- Organise content collection trips to IRC’s programme countries and identify clients who are willing to tell their stories / participate in photo shoots
- Create briefs for all content field trips
- Manage grant funded communications budgets
- Ensure IRC is meeting donor visibility requirements
- Analyse and report on performance of EU-funded content to ensure data-driven approach to content creation
- Monitor IRC’s digital channels
Requirements
- University degree in a relevant area, or equivalent relevant experience in communications
- Excellent English language skills, ideally on a native level, and very good writing skills
- French or German language skills are an asset
- Attention to detail and ability to think creatively and produce innovative content
- Excellent organizational and time management skills and the ability to prioritise
- Experience developing and delivering comprehensive communciations plans
- Experience writing and editing materials as well as producing video and photoshoots
- Design and video editing skills including using Adobe Photoshop and Premiere Pro
- Strong understanding of social media and the digital landscape
- Project managing experience, involving multiple stakeholders and deadlines
- Ability to work effectively as part of an international team
- Knowledge of conducting interviews with people who have experienced trauma
- Strong Drupal skills
- Experience of maintaining project budgets
- Strong interpersonal skills and a good sense of humour
