Full Time

We are seeking a Multi Skilled Technical Operator (MSTOs) for our Washington DC bureau which is located a block away from the White House and offers iconic views from our rooftop positions.

You should be comfortable working in both studio and on-location in a broadcast news environment, be a competent operator of cameras, audio and lighting desks, Master Control Room, and possess a good understanding of the latest connectivity solutions.

This is an entry to mid-level full-time position. The MSTOs should ideally have some experience in live television but there will be thorough training provided to the right candidate.

Responsibilities
  • Operate robotic and ENG-style cameras in a purpose-built studio or on-location
  • Plan simple live studio setups
  • Control sound and lighting desks
  • Support the Engineers as required
  • Take bookings for our Live Services
  • Route and coordinate live shots ex our DTL or rooftop positions.
  • Utilize IP connectivity solutions
  • Conduct equipment lineup for dry hire clients
  • Support office staff, including receptionists and runners
  • Ensure company’s health and safety policies are met
  • Troubleshoot emergencies quickly and effectively by involving correct members of staff
  • Act as Booking Coordinator when needed
  • Assist Operations Manager with operational and/or admin tasks
  • Support Clients to ensure proper service is met.
  • Assist in planning special events such as Elections

Requirements
  • Understanding of video and audio signal paths and the ability to monitor live content
  • Knowledge of IP broadcast equipment (preferred)
  • Excellent communication and people skills
  • Polite and pro-active in approach, with an intense focus on service delivery
  • Good telephone manner
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Good organizational and multitasking abilities
  • Problem-solving skills
  • Quick to learn and a team player
  • Able to work unsociable hours (evenings and weekends) when required
  • Driving license (preferred)
  • Bachelor’s Degree in communications or Film/TV preferred
