An earthquake shook northern Italy on Tuesday, after a tremor struck the region earlier this month killing seven people and destroying hundreds of buildings.
The quake struck the Modena area, 40 km north of Bologna and 60 km east of Parma at a depth of 9.6 km (6 miles) according to the U.S. Geological Survey. It gave a magnitude of 6.0
Eurovision Special Events is operational in Cavezzo, 25 kms north of Modena, with production and transmission facilities. Backdrop of standup positions shows destroyed buildings.
Access: road blocks by civil protection units, but journalists can pass through showing their journalist id.

Italian Prime Minister Mario Monti pledged on Tuesday to do all he could to help the northern Italian region hit by two strong earthquakes in just over a week.
A new earthquake has struck the Emilia region in northern Italy, killing at least 10 people and burying several others under rubble, local media say. All the deaths were in the Modena area.
Tuesday's earthquake, estimated at 5.8 magnitude, hit the same region where a quake 10 days ago killed seven people and destroyed many buildings.
