Overon

The Council, chaired by EU High Representative Catherine Ashton, is expected to discuss Afghanistan, in preparation for the NATO summit of 20/21 May in Chicago. The debate will focus on contributions to the Afghan National Security Forces, regional cooperation with Afghanistan's neighbours and development cooperation.

Moreover, the Council's agenda will include the Middle East peace process and the Southern neighbourhood, especially Libya, Syria and Algeria.
