Olympic Flame arrives in the UK on May 18, 2012. It will then begin it's 70 day journey at Land's End on the morning of May 19.

The torch will pass through 1,018 places included Dublin. It will be carried by nearly 8000 people on its journey to the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games on 27 July.

The Olympic Flame arrives in United Kingdom from Greece on May 18 and kicks off an 8,000-mile (12,875-kilometre) relay across the country the following day.

The flame touches down at Royal Naval Air Station (RNAS) Culdrose in Cornwall on board a chartered British Airways A319 aircraft at approximately 19.30 BST.

The Olympic Torch Relay begins at Land’s End, the westernmost tip of England, on the morning of Saturday 19 May to reach Plymouth in the evening.

The flame will also make stops in Ireland and involve 8,000 torchbearers.

The torchbearers are to include Britain's oldest full-time firefighter and a soldier who lost three limbs in Afghanistan.

The Olympic flame will arrive in Britain on the 18th of May ahead of an almost 12'875 kilometre (8-thousand mile) journey across the UK to the London Olympic games.

The flame, which was lit on May 10th during a ceremony at Olympia in Greece, will be flown to the UK landing at the Royal Naval Air station (RNAS) Cauldrose on Cornwall's Lizard Peninsulam, aboard a chartered British Airways flight 'BA2012' from Athens. The arrival ceremony is expected to begin at 1830 GMT (1930 BST).

During the 10-week UK relay, the torch will be carried by a total of 8,000 torch-bearers. It will travel across Britain - coming within 10 miles of 95% of the population - before the olympics Opening ceremony on the 27th of July.
