The deadline announced by the Sudanese authorities for an estimated 500,000 South Sudanese citizens in Sudan to leave the country is passed.
Khartoum in February announced 8 April as deadline for the former citizens to leave or acquire documents allowing them to stay in the country.
Tension between the two countries has been rising since the occupation of South Sudan forces to Heglig oilfield earlier last month.
