The Polish Parliament (Sejm) will host the Conference of Speakers of the EU Parliaments. The conference will be inaugurated with speeches delivered by Marshal of the Sejm Ewa Kopacz and Marshal of the Senate Bogdan Borusewicz.

The meetings will focus on four primary topics:
• ways out of the crisis of European unity;
• parliamentary control of the Common Foreign and Security Policy and the Common Security and Defence Policy;
• Treaty on Stability, Coordination and Governance in the EMU;
• Parliament, public opinion and the media.

Speeches will also be given by Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk, President of the Assembly of the Republic of Portugal Maria da Assunção Esteves and Speaker of the House of Representatives of Belgium André Flahaut. President of the European Parliament Martin Schulz will meet with PM Donald Tusk on Friday at 14:00 CET. The meeting will be followed by a press briefing.
