Paris, France - April 19, 2012

The "Friends of Syria" group will convene in the French capital of Paris on Thursday, April 19th.

Foreign Ministers from Great Britain, Germany, Egypt, Italy, Jordan, Kuwait, Morocco, Qatar, Tunisia, Turkey, United Arab Emirates and the United States of America are expected to participate.

In a statement released on Wednesday, the French Foreign Minister Alain Juppe said that it was an obligation for the international community to continue solidarity against the Syrian regime, one that caused problems for UN observers and continue putting pressure on its own people. We will go over the latest situation in Syria on Thursday. We want to send a strong message to Syria to implement the Annan Plan, Juppe stressed.

The first meeting of "Friends of Syria" took place in Tunis on February 24 and the second in Istanbul on April 1.

Eurovision Special Events will establish production and transmission facilities in Paris, including:

Standup position for Live programme inserts
Playout (multi-format)
Connectivity to the Eurovision Global Network
