Marseille, France, Septembre 9 & 10

The G7 finance ministers and central bank governors are expected to meet on September 9 and 10th, 2011 in the French city of Marseille.

The ministers of the Group of Seven major industrialised nations will discuss the turmoil in the financial markets. The unprecedented downgrading of the United States' credit rating by Standard & Poor's had added a global dimension on top of the Euro zone's debt crisis, raising the need for international coordination.

Globecast

GlobeCast will be providing facilities to broadcasters covering the G7 Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors’ Meeting, together with the Deauville partnership Finance Ministers’ Meeting.

Central bank governors, EU, IMF and World Bank officials are also due to attend the meeting which is expected to focus on currency issues. Senior political leaders from Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, the UK and the US are due to attend.
