European Commissioner for Economic and Monetary Affairs Olli Rehn will hold a press conference Friday about the "ongoing developments in the euro zone," the European Commission said in a statement late Thursday. The press conference is expected to start around 1020 GMT, the commission said. Rehn's press conference comes after the European Central Bank reintroduced extra liquidity measures Thursday and bought Portuguese and Irish bonds in an effort to calm markets and contain the currency bloc's debt crisis. In Brussels, President of the European Commission Jose Manuel Barroso wrote to leaders of euro-zone member states, saying they should reassess all aspects of Europe's bailout funds.
