Oslo & near Utoya island, Norway, August 19-22, 2011
Norway will hold a national ceremony of remembrance at the Oslo Spektrum on August 21st to remember the 77 people who died in the Oslo bombing and the Utøya island shooting on July 22nd.
Anders Behring Breivik, 32, who confessed to the bombing and the cold-blooded shootings on a nearby island, was charged by police with terrorism which carries a sentence of up to 21 years. The duration of the sentence could be extended.
Breivik, a right-wing extremist, said he wanted to change Norway’s multicultural policies, blaming the Labour Party for encouraging Muslim immigration.
Survivors, who are still trying to come to terms with the horrific scenes they witnessed on July 22nd, will be invited to the ceremony along with relatives of the victims and rescure workers.
Families of the victims are expected to visit Utoya island on Friday, August 19th followed by survivors of the shooting on Saturday, August 20th. The press will be allowed to visit Utoya island for the first time since the attack on Monday, August 22nd.

Remembrance ceremony for massacre victims
The ceremony will be held on Sunday August 21 in Oslo, where eight people were killed by a car bomb planted by Anders Behring Breivik. Breivik went on to kill 69 others on a nearby holiday island Utøya.
The Norwegian royal family and government officials will be present along with many of those who were directly affected by the attacks.

Norway will hold on August 21 in Oslo national commemoration to remember the 77 people who died in the attacks on the island of Utoya last July 22 at the hands of the murderer Behring Anders Breivik. The murderer has been sentenced to 21 years prison sentence, which could spread.
The survivors, who try to overcome the trauma that caused the terrible attack on them will be the guests of honor with their families, and families of victims of the memorial.
