25th Anniversary of Sept.11 Attacks

The United States will observe the 25th anniversary of 9/11 with several commemorative ceremonies. Family members of victims will once again gather to read aloud the names of those killed in the 9/11 attacks in New York City.

On September 11, 2001, nearly 3,000 people were killed when 19 al-Qaida hijackers seized control of four jetliners, sending two into New York’s World Trade Center, one into the Pentagon in Arlington, Virginia, and the fourth into a field in western Pennsylvania. It remains the deadliest terror attack in history.

The 9/11 Memorial and Museum, at the site where hijacked planes destroyed the World Trade Center’s twin towers in lower Manhattan. has launched a $75 million fundraising campaign to educate millions of U.S. youth who don’t remember the terror attacks of the upcoming 25th anniversary.
