New York Mayoral Election
New York, USA | November 4-5, 2025

Zohran Mamdani, a 33-year-old state lawmaker and self-described democratic socialist, is the presumed favorite in the New York mayoral election. Mamdani beat former New York Governor Andrew Cuomo decisively in the Democratic Party primary.

In the three-man race, Cuomo and his supporters have called on Republican Curtis Sliwa to drop out of the race to set up what they argue would be a more favorable one-on-one rematch with Mamdani.

The race has catapulted Mamdani to national political stardom, with Republicans, including President Donald Trump, trying to turn him into the face of the Democratic Party by highlighting his most controversial past comments and positions and casting him as dangerous, a communist and an antisemite.
