Washington Military Parade

A controversial military parade in Washington will honor the U.S. Army's 250th birthday and fall on President Donald Trump's 79th birthday.

Columns of tanks will roll along Constitution Avenue. The parade will involve thousands of troops marching in formation, in uniforms representing every U.S. conflict dating back to the Revolutionary War, which began in 1775.

The parade plans call for about 6,600 soldiers, 150 vehicles, and 50 helicopters to follow a route from the Pentagon in Arlington, Virginia, to the National Mall. The late-afternoon parade will be followed by a parachute jump by the Army's Golden Knights, a concert, and fireworks.
